Day 01 : Delhi - Srinagar
Reception in
Srinagar upon arrival
and transfer to houseboat. Afternoon, shikara ride on the
Dal Lake in Kashmir, visiting floating vegetables gardens. Srinagar is located in the heart of the Kashmir valley at an altitude of 1,730 m, spread on both sides of the river Jhelum. The Dal Lake and Nagin Lakes in Kashmir enhance its picturesque setting, while the changing play of the seasons and the salubrious climate ensures that the city is equally attractive to visitors around the year.
Day 02: Srinagar - Mughal Gardens
Morning sightseeing of the Mughal Gardens (built by the Mughal emperors, who used to come as often as they could to enjoy the refreshing atmosphere of Kashmir). First you will visit Cheshmashahi garden, whose views are as stupendous as its layout, before visiting Nishat Bagh (built by Asaf Khan) and Shalimar Bagh, built by emperor Jehangir for his beloved wife Nur Jahan.
Afternoon free, or visit a carpet weaving factory and go shopping.
Day 03 : Gulmarg
Full day trip (with packed lunch) to Gulmarg, "the meadow of flowers" (56 km from Srinagar). Gulmarg has one of the best ski slopes and one of the highest golf courses (18 holes) in the world. You can trek or ride a pony up to Khilanmarg in about 3 hrs, or take the Gondola Lift for mountain rides. Enjoy a view of Nanga Parbat and K2 (if the weather permits).
Day 04 - Transfer to airport for the return flight.

Day 04 : Pahalgam
After breakfast, leave by car through the pine forest for Pahalgam, the valley of shepherds (96 km from Srinagar). En route, enjoy the beautiful countryside and visit the saffron fields of Pampore (the only place in India where saffron is grown).
Visit Awantipura Ruins, a 1100 years old temple of lord Vishnu, built by the king Awantivarman. Enjoy your packed lunch on the banks of the Lidder stream. If you like fishing, try to catch a rainbow trout…. Later, walk along pony trails with a magnificent view of the mountains.
Drive back to Srinagar
Day 05 - Transfer to airport for the return flight.

Duration : 7 Days
Day 01 : Delhi - Srinagar

Drive back to Srinagar. Afternoon free in Srinagar: a good occasion to go shopping. In Srinagar you can find the most beautiful Kashmiri carpets, real pashmina shawls, lovely clothes and cricket bats, for cheap prices.
Day 07 - Transfer to airport for the return flight.

Day 01 : Delhi - Srinagar

Day 02 : Sonamarg
Full day excursion (with packed lunch) to Sonamarg by car (87 km from Srinagar). Sonamarg ("the meadow of gold") lies in Sind Valley strewn with flowers and surrounded by mountains. The river abounds with trout and mahaseer, and ponies can be hired for the trip up to Thajiwas glacier.
Sonamarg is also the base for some interesting treks to high altitude Himalayan lakes.
Day 03 : Srinagar
