Passing isolated areas and remote villages, you will discover Tibetan culture and Ladakh heritage: visit splendid gompas and observe preserved wildlife, before you reach the High altitude Tsumoriri Lake. If you feel audacious, don't miss the occasion to climb the 6,200 m Kangyatse.

Duration : 22 Days
Day 01 : Delhi - Arrival in Delhi and transfer to hotel.
Day 02 : Delhi
Delhi sightseeing. Many monuments display the intricate history of this area, reminding of the past times, such as the Mughal domination or the murder of Mahatma Gandhi… (Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Raj Ghat, Purana Qila, Humayoun's tomb, India Gate…)
Day 03 : Leh - Spectacular flight from Delhi to Leh. Day at leisure for acclimatization.
Day 04 : Leh
Morning free. Afternoon visit Stok Palace, the home of Ladakhi royalty. Tour of Phyang and Spitok Gompas (Buddhist monasteries).
Day
05 : Alchi & Likir Gompas
Visit to Alchi and Likir Gompas. Alchi 11th-century gompa has been remarkably well-preserved and the famed frescoes within. In the afternoon, return by jeep to Leh.
Day
06 : Thiksey & Hemis Gompas - Martselang - Chodo
Departure for Martselang. En route visit Thiksey and Hemis monasteries, the wealthiest and most influential institutions in Ladakh. Trek starts from Hemis: follow the Shang River, which is to be crossed several times to reach Chodo. (6 hrs walk)
Day 07 : Kangmarula
Walk along the Shang River and camp at the base of Kangmarula (4,500 m). (6 hrs walk)
Day 08 : Kangyatse base
Start early morning to cross the Kangmarula Pass, which takes 3 hours to stop. Beautiful view of the Karakoram and Zanskar ranges, and of the Kangyatse close. Camp at the Base of Kangyatse.
Day 09 : Kangyatse - Relaxed day or optional climb of Kangyatse (6,200 m).
Day 10 : Zalunkkarpo La - 6 hrs trek to base of Zalunkkarpo La Camp at 4,200 m.
Day 11 : Karnak Valley - Trek to Khar, which is a beautiful place for camping in Karnak Valley.
Day 12 : Sumdo - Dhat
Cross the Chage Chu River three times before you reach Sumdo at the end of Karnak Valley. From here turn to left and trek through a broad valley to reach Dhat, one of the largest villages in Rupshu. Camp at Dhat (6 hrs trek)
Day 13 : Lunmoche
Trek to 4,950 m Yarla Pass, and then descend down to Lungmoche. Here you can see Kiangs (wild donkeys), around the campsite. 7 hrs of easy walk.
Day 14 : Sangtha
Easy path crossing nomads Changpa, who live on yaks, sheeps and goats cattle. 4 hrs of walk.
Day 15 : Phogmarla Path - Narbu
At Sangtha cross the stream and climb for one hour towards the easy path of Pangmur. Climb the Phogmarla Pass in about 2 hours and descend to Narbu.
Day 16 : Nuruchan
Walk on the vast plain in the direction of north east to reach the road. Walk on the road for 7 km, and then turn west to large valley. Follow this valley and descend to campsite above Nuruchan.
Day 17 : Kamayuri La - Gyama
Climb 50 m to plateau on the left side of river. Cross a low pass descend and trek to the bottom of 5260 m Kamayuri La Pass. 6 hrs trek. Overnight camp at the bottom of Gyama Pass.
Day 18-19 : Korzok
Cross a small river, and a stream after a short walk. Follow the main river and cross it to climb up a small valley. At the broadest point climb up the 5,200 m Korzol La. Steep descent to a large plain, and then follow the river Korzok. End of trek.
Camp 2 nights at Korzok, the only village at the bank of Tsomoriri Lake (4,530 m).
Day 19 : Tsomoriri Lake
Rest day at the lake. Enjoy the exceptional scenery of this mountain lake and observe wildlife (kiang donkeys, foxes, marmots and maybe China wolfs…). Visit Korzok Gompa.
Day 20 - Drive to Leh across Tanglang La, second highest motorable pass in the world (5,317 m).
Overnight hotel in Leh.
Day 21 - Relaxed day in Leh. Overnight in hotel.
Day 22 - Transfer from hotel to airport for flight to Delhi.
