Day 1 : Samode
Drive from Delhi to Samode, to stay at its palace or garden retreat. The village settlement is picturesque.
Day 2 : Shekhawati
Drive to Nawalgarh in the heart of the Shekhawati region. Afternoon, explore surrounding towns and villages with their temples and havelis richly ornamented by frescoes.
Day 3 : Khimsar
Drive to Khimsar Fort. A charming heritage hotel, the village around it is settled at the base of sand dunes. Ride a short jeep safari to observe blackbucks in the desert.
Day 4 : Jaisalmer
Drive to Jaisalmer, the isolated city of desert dominated by a huge fort.
Day 5 : Jaisalmer - Pokaran
Explore Jaisalmer on foot. This is one of the last known citadels where 21st century has made few intrusions, and a wide variety of crafts are still practiced. Afternoon, drive to Pokaran to stay at its fort. Pottery and decorations for camels are made here.
Day 6 : Pokaran - Jodhpur
Leave for Jodhpur, with sightseeing of this awesome blue city in the afternoon : Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada Memorial, Chamunda Devi Temple, Umaid Gardens...
Day 7 : Mandore - Rohet
Visit Mandore and then Rohet, where you will stay in its charming fort. In afternoon, jeep safari to the surroundings Rabari and Bishnoi villages. Those tribes are famous for their respect of nature and wild life.
Day 8 : Daspan
Drive to Daspan village where the fertile fields grow bountiful crops. The village is known for its embroidered shoes, and also its bows and arrows designed by the Bhil, who used to be tough warriors.
Day 9 : Siyana
Continue into farming country, to Siyana. Stay at Thakur Ganpat Singh's farm where you can ride Marwari horses.
Day 10 : Sirohi - Bera
Accross the flat irrigated land of Sirohi, drive to Leopard's Lair at Bera. In the vicinity, there is a large settlement of Rabaris, a migrant population.
Day 11 : Ranakpur
Drive to Ranakpur with its 16th century temples. Stay at Maharani Bagh in the midst of an orchard, with Gerasia dancers performing in the evening.
Day 12 : Devgarh
Drive to Devgarh to stay at the Mahal (palace). Evening at the farmhouse of a local chieftain.
Day 13 : Udaipur
Drive to Udaipur, stay at a choice of deluxe palace hotels. Discover the most romantic city of Rajasthan, with its splendid temples, palaces and havelis on the lake (Crystal Gallery du City Palace, Jagdish temple, Bagore-ki-Haveli…). Boat excursion on Lake Pichola.
Day 14 : Dungarpur
Go to Dungarpur. Visit the city (Juna Mahal, Deo Samnath Temple) and its Bhil villages around.
Day 15 : Chittaurgarh - Bijaipur
Drive to Chittaurgarh, whose ruined attractions remind of the past wars. Afternoon, drive to Bijaipur, the base for the Mina tribes. Excursion by jeep or by horse.
Day 16 : Kota
Drive to Kota, a modern city with a romantic past. Local sightseeing (City Palace, Jagmandir, Chambals and Chhattar Bilas Gardens) ; observe the havelis with famous hunting scenes.
Day 17 : Bundi - Rajmahal
Drive to Bundi. Sightseeing in fort and Raniji ki Baori stepwells. Continue to Rajmahal, a 300-year-old palace with the village named after it. The palace overlooks the river below.
Day 18 : Pachewar
Drive to Pachewar village and its restored fort (Garh). Afternoon to explore the village and relax in the serene gardens. Observe the flourishing agricultural and handicraft practices (toy makers, blue pottery kiln).
Day 19 : Jaipur
Drive to Jaipur, the pink city. Discover the sandstone palaces (City Palace, Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, Nahargarh). Elephant ride at Amber Fort. Shopping in the bazaars of the old city, a major center for handicrafts.
Day 20 : Bhandarej
Drive to Bhandarej ; the village has a lovely setting beside a lake, and Mina settlements around it. Drive to Karauli, to visit its pink stone carriers and its Kaila Devi Temple.
Day 21 : Bharatpur
Drive to Bharatpur. Visit Bird Sanctuary and the old fort with its invincible mud bastions.
Day 22 : depart for Agra or Delhi.
