India Peacock Travel is a trademark of Peacock Tours Private Limited, incorporated in New Delhi as a Tour Operator. The website www.india-peacock-travel.comexternal link also belongs to Peacock Tours.

Please read our terms and conditions carefully before you commit to a reservation with Peacock Tours.


1. Trip reservation/subscription

How to book

To book a tailor-made or organized tour, the customer must contact Peacock Tours. The customer will receive a proposal mentioning the tour description, the services included in the price, the total price and the payment terms.

The subscription to a trip is valid after Peacock Tours has received an advance deposit. The payment must be finaled on or before due date.

Before the trip starts, the customer will receive a firm booking confirmation, mentioning the name and contact details of the hotels, the train and flight timing, etc. Reservation vouchers will be delivered to the customer after receiving the full payment.


Physical ability
The customer must be sure that he is physically able to undertake the trip he plans to book, especially for mountain expeditions and trek tours.
The customer must report any disability requiring special attention at the time of booking, so that Peacock Tours can adjust the reservation accordingly, as far as possible.


Legal and health requirements
The customer must check the legal and health requirements before traveling to India. He must carry a valid passport with a visa delivered before departure by the Indian Embassy of his country of residence: no visa is delivered on arrival in India.


2. Payment

Price
Tariffs in advertising materials and in this website are displayed for your information only. The actual price of the trip is mentioned in the agreement issued in the customer's name by Peacock Tours. It can exceptionally be revised up in the event of variation of costs after the booking (fuel cost, local taxes...). In case of important fluctuations in exchange rates, the price quoted in a foreign currency (EUR, USD...) might also be revised up. The customer would immediately be informed.


Methods of payment

  • Remote payment: interbank transfer or online payment (PayPal account or credit card) are accepted. The payment gateway is secured by PayPal; Peacock Tours cannot access any confidential financial information about its customers.
  • Payment on the spot: cash, credit card and Traveler's cheques payments are accepted (currencies: EUR, USD or INR).


Applicable exchange rate will be as on the day of transaction. The customer will be asked to contribute to part of the financial fees implied by some payment methods:

  • 3% of the paid amount for online payment and/or credit card payment.
  • for bank transfer, the customer must choose the option "Share": he pays his bank's outgoing fees, and Peacock Tours pays its bank's incoming fees.

In case of high difference between the billed amount and the amount actually received, Peacock Tours reserves the right to ask the customer to pay the difference.


3. Tailor-made tours: modification requested by the customer

Amendment or changement of tour

Before and during the tour, the customer can ask for changement in his program, for all or part of the tour booked. Peacock Tours will check whether the changements are feasible and will estimate possible additional charges. If the customer agrees with the conditions, Peacock Tours will quickly proceed with the changements.


Modification of travelers' number

  • In case some travelers withdraw from the tour, they will be refunded the amount paid as described in the "cancellation" section, as long as the trip costs do not rise for remaining travelers.
  • In case new travelers want to join the trip, Peacock Tours will check if services are still available for booking and will reconfirm the final price.


4. Amendments by Peacock Tours

If some services included in the price are not available at the time of booking (such as flight or hotel sold out), Peacock Tours will look for equivalent alternative solutions and inform the customer. If some solutions cost additional charges, Peacock Tours will also reconfirm with the customer before booking.


5. Cancellation

If the customer cancels his trip:

  • more than 45 days in advance, Peacock Tours will refund the whole amount paid, deducting a placement fee and all non-refundable expenses which might have incurred for the trip (issued flight ticket for example).
  • from 45 to 15 days prior to the trip, Peacock Tours can require the payment of 50% of the total price, or more if necessary to cover non-refundable expenses already incurred.
  • 15 days or less prior to the trip, Peacock Tours can keep all or part of the total price, and can require payment of unpaid balance.


6. Liability

The Company cannot always control or prevent changes implemented by their suppliers. Peacock Tours is not liable for amendment or cancellation of services by an airline, a railway or a boat transporter. Should a scheduled change occur Peacock Tours will endeavour to minimize any inconvenience, but cannot however offer any compensation. Any additional charge which should result from such changements would be payable by the customer only.

If Peacock Tours has to modify or interrupt a trip for legitimate reasons (of safety, security, weather or any other case of force majeure), the customer cannot claim for compensation of unused services.


7. Claims

Any complaint regarding the trip must be notified immediately to Peacock Tours by phone, so that the company can bring a solution to the problem. After the trip, claims can be sent by email and will be handled personally.

Peacock Tours is subject to Indian laws and to the jurisdiction of New Delhi.


8. Privacy policy

Data collection and security: Peacock Tours collects personal data (name, contact and passport details...) voluntarily provided by its customers, in order to proceed their bookings and to meet their personal requirements. Peacock Tours cares for their privacy and takes all necessary precautions to protect personal data. Only authorized employees and contractors (who have agreed to keep information secure and confidential) have access to this information.

Information sharing: Peacock Tours might give some customer's contact details to somebody asking for references about the company. However these details will never be published nor forwarded in bulk to a third party for marketing purposes. A customer can request us anytime to keep his or her contact details totally confidential.

Online Payment by credit card: customers paying online will be redirected to a secure payment gateway. Peacock Tours will not access their confidential banking data.

Information contained on this website is provided in good faith, but Peacock Tours makes no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, as to the operation of the site, the information, the content, materials or products included on this website. Except to the extent as provided by applicable law, Peacock Tours disclaims all responsibility as to the information, content, materials or products arising from the use of this site, whether direct, indirect, consequential or otherwise.
